When you go to the club, you want to have fun and dance. However sometimes you require a little liquid courage in order to get out there and show your stuff. If you’re insecure about your moves, it might be difficult to put yourself out there totally sober but have too much to drink and you’ll probably embarrass yourself. So here’s a quick look at the various stages of drunk dancing, so next time you can recognize when you’ve reached that happy medium.
The night just started and you’ve only taken one sip of your drink… You feel sober and awkward and uncomfortable. Dancing is for the ladies, I’m not gonna do that. I’m a manly man. You’d rather just stand back and let others dance without you.
The booze starts to kick in just a little… You hear a song you like and the beat takes over you involuntarily for a second. Oh… um, uh, I wasn’t dancing. Nah, that was just a… reflex. You’re still not ready to get out there.
You muster up enough courage to venture out onto the dance floor… You’re not quite comfortable yet but at least you’re trying. Don’t mind me. I’ll just be out here minding my own business…
Wait… what’s that? Ohhhh yeah… Another drink in and you can feel the music. It’s on.
It’s time! You’ve reached the perfect drinks to confidence ratio. We got some dancing to do!
You’re dancing! You are feeling good and you are having fun.
You’re drunk and you’re busting out dance moves you didn’t even know you had. I am a dance machine! I am a golden god! I am… wow, I’m really drunk, but I don’t care! You might look great or you might look ridiculous, it’s hard to tell… but what you do know is that you are officially the life of the party!
I am the life of the party! Uh… no. You kept drinking and now you’ve passed “life of the party” and become “that guy”. You’re still having a great time but it’s definitely time to stop drinking.
You totally ignored the fact that you were drunk and should’ve stopped drinking. You’ve crossed the line from self confidence to delusions of grandeur. Look at me! I am a…… blahasdlkjfweorughdkl! Yeah!!! You’re probably going to hurt yourself, so knock it off.
You’re beyond fun drunk now. Dancing is over and you just want to lay down on the dance floor and take a nap. Huh! Where am I? It’s time to go home. You can start again next weekend.
Still learning to dance? It might need a few drinks to build up the courage to get out there on the dance floor. Once you’re more confident in your dancing abilities it should be easy to show off your moves at the club no matter how much you’ve had to drink.
